Reverend Elizabeth Stookey, Founder
Elizabeth Bannard Stookey, known as Betty to friends and family, is an ordained UCC minister, business woman, teacher, wife and mother. She holds masters degrees in ESL (Columbia University), French (Universite de Grenoble) and Divinity (Harvard). Since her childhood, Betty has understood the beauty of diversity, rather than its problems. Hers is a multi-faith vision, one that she believes will help us learn to appreciate, honor and respect the communal truth of another's faith tradition and guide us toward a peaceful coexistence within our differences.

"I would like to thank Wesley Seminary, especially President David McAllister-Wilson and Reverend Larry Stookey and Reverend Sathianathan Clarke, for encouraging my early venture into a multifaith vision. I also extend my gratitude to the faculty, staff and students at Northfield Mount Hermon School, who supported my efforts at bringing together the diverse religious population of the school. And finally, I thank my wonderful husband, Noel, who was and is always there with loving, helpful and creative ideas."
